Dedicated network cards for gaming and Cat7 Ethernet cables?

I've been hearing differing opinions regarding using a dedicated vs onboard LAN. Sometimes I hear that there's no point other times I hear that it's good to have for gaming but isn't a huge improvement.

Also, regarding Cat7 cables, would there be any reason to invest in one of these? I've heard that they are less prone to errors and have reduced crosstalk.

Onboard LAN is fine, and Cat7 is so not needed.
