Heyo!

Got my parts chosen, not thinking about decent sound card, I want a sound card that could give my ears some hardcore orgasms. Seriously. I have heard that Asus Xonar ir very good.
I have always wanted to give some good sound card a try. How does it tweaks sound quality? :)

I am looking at about 70$ to spend on sound card, not like now, when I will have spare money.

Suggestions ? ^.^

EDIT:

Ah yeah, I will be gaming and listening to music!

Solution
So long story short your running ~$40 headphones, you wont really benefit in terms of audio quality from a sound card.
Get an Asus Xonar DGX, your pretty much buying it for the amp with that kind of headphone.

Really though, the better investment is to sit on that cash and wait until you can buy a good set of headphones or speakers. Quite simply in terms of $ per audio quality (like such a thing is measurable), the speaker is far better to spend money on than the DAC. Its only once your rocking $200+ headphones is it really worthwhile spending any decent money on a DAC/sound card.

Thanks!

So there is no point of buying a bad-ass sound card if I have shitty speakers/headphones. Thanks for help :)

So I guess I will save for better headphones, what headphones You could suggest me for 100$ lets say. MUSIC/gaming

One weird thing about my knowledge set is that I can give plenty of generalist advice about audio gear, but ask what to get in particular and I have no clue.
Though $100 headphones are a pretty common topic online, a quick googling will likely find plenty of resources on the topic. The /g/ headphones guides I find are pretty good for this kind of thing if your fine with the not very professional language (they are a product of 4chan, so what can be you expect).

most of your true audiophile level headphones start in the $130-180 range. those are definitely worth hooking up to a $70 soundcard (the xonar dx or creative z) but not any cheap junk headphones.

dollar for dollar the ath-m50s which can be found for $99 in the usa on amazon has great sound. the only fault is its very tiny soundstage. most gamers prefer large soundstages for spatial positioning.

for $100 you can also find the ad500x which has a wide soundstage and good sound but is very lacking in the bass department. good for gaming if you dont like/need lots of bass but not good for anyone who wants any real bass presence.

for $120 you can find the hd558 which has a wider soundstage then the m50s but less than the ad500x, less bass presence than the m50s but more highs presence and good sound for a relatively low price.

also you might want to read head-fi forums for clues instead of /g/ ... as there is just a bit more maturity there. anything 4chan related is questionable at best.
