I'm working on my first build and was wondering if an AMD FX-8350 would bottle neck an Asus R9 280 GPU for any reason. What kind of benchmarks might I be able to expect between the two at 1080p? Here are the parts:

And here's the entire build (so far):

well i have a 8320 overclocked up to 4.8ghz atm... i found it bottlenecked my r9-280x a bit up until i got up over 4.6ghz... once i got up over that point i no longer found any bottlenecks in what i play.

Assuming you're going to stay at 1080p, and only run the single card. It will be totally fine. That amd chip can handle basically any graphics card at this time (if OC'd), but once you start going SLI you will need to do a substantial overclock and/or new chip.
Dependent on game though, some games are more cpu intensive vs gpu. or vise versa.

So using a 280 with similar OC will probably be OK. How easy is it to OC with the 8350 btw?

Yes, I will be staying with single and 1080p for now. When the time comes for SLI there will definaitly be a new chip and/or major OCing.

childs play in comparison to how overclocking used to be. there are dozens of fantastic guides out there to overclocking piledriver cpus. in reality it's pretty easy. these late run piledrivers all seem to overclock well. Early in the run, 4.8 was the typical cap... now many of the new ones coming out will get up to 4.8 without much effort... and 5.0 is fairly reachable for those with good cpu coolers... Heck, my own 8320 hit 4.5, prime stable at STOCK voltage settings (all i did was increase the cpu multiplier) it will load into windows on stock voltage at 4.7... though it's not a stable at that voltage.
