To upgrade my graphics card, do I also need to upgrade my cpu or anything? I'm new to pc gaming. My rig has gtx 650 intel i5-3350p @3.10GHz. I'm looking at the gtx 730 or is it 740.... Idk one of those, the graphic card series names confuse me. Thanks for the help.

you will be gpu bottlenecked with that cpu so i suggest a 750 ti or 760. 730, 740 are a downgrade from the gtx 650.

No need to upgrade your CPU, it's powerful enough to run games. Just upgrade your GPU.

The I5 3350p is a good cpu and will not bottleneck and current single gpu video card. The 740 and the 730 would be a downgrade. The extra performance of the 750 wouldn't be worth the cost of the upgrade.

If your PSU is good enough, you should be looking at an R9 270x at minimum.
