First overclock enquiry.

Recently had a new build with the corsair 540 air case and the intel i5 4690k cpu cooled by the zalman cnps10x optima.

Motherboard is z97p-d3.

What kind of overclock would be possible on this setup? I think I understand the theory behind the method but any further advice or recommendation would always be welcome.

Really depends on the capabilities of the CPU, but with your cooler, I'd guess 4.3 - maybe better, think your idle would prob be 40 or so at that with that Zalman

Thanks, would it be best to go up in stages of 100mhz and test or upto say 4ghz then test with smaller increasements after that?

I'd just start at about 4 with CPU voltage about 1.2 and see how that does, if stable, try 4.1 etc, if not stable raise the voltage to 1.21
