In specific, the "old games" are the army men war chest collection. I played the hell out of these games as a kid, and decided to play them once more. When I got to the autoplay, I pressed install, and it was attempting to turn it on, but the setup screen never came up. I went to the task manager, and I saw that the setup was running, but not showing or doing anything. That's why I said it was "ghosting". The setup was also taking up about 1 MB of RAM, which I thought also was odd. I know that these are old games, but I thought it would use more if it were installing the game. Before you waste your time, I've also manually changed the compatibility mode on the autoplay, the setup shortcut, and the setup itself, but to no avail. If anyone is able to help me with this, I'd be forever grateful. I'd love to bring back some good childhood memories. If a visual is needed to better describe this, just tell me and I can record the instance happening.

It's possible they're the era of games that "don't run" on windows anymore.
You could use Virtual Box: https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads To create a virtual XP machine and try installing army men on that though.
