Hey everyone, I am going to attempt to UNDERCLOCK my 2400MHz RAM timed CL 11 to 1866MHz timed CL 8 (hopefully). Will anyone tell me how? Is it possible or is CL 8 way to optimistic?

REASONS WHY I WANT TO (as if it matters, I want to because I can!)
I want to change the default timings from CL11 to CL8 for optimum performance since the timings are set for 2400MHz and timings of 11 when using only 1866MHz RAM is a monstrous waste of power. AMD's APU architecture for their CPU's greatly benefit from high frequency low CAS RAM. If this was an Intel i7 4770k I wouldn't bother at all, but alas, 'tis only an AMD cpu!

Please recommend timings for me to start with. I'm not terribly familiar with RAM timings so I was hoping for either some recommendations (for instance, someone tells me a good start might be with 9-10-9-28 timing or something and drop some if the system is very stable), or perhaps a link somewhere detailing how to clock RAM based on specs?

Thanks so much guys!!!!

MY RIG:
---
AMD FX-9590 4.7-5GHz 8 core Black Edition processor
ASUS 990FX Crosshair X Formula-Z mobo (supports up to 2400MHz RAM but the CPU doesn't)
4GB Gigabyte Radeon R9 290X OC Windforce
16GB AMD Radeon R9 Gamer Series 2400MHz CL11
2x 2GB Seagate Hybrid 7200RPM Sata III 6Gb/s 64MB Cache w/ 7.8GB NAND Flash Cache
ASUS Blu Ray Reader/Writer
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit SP1
Corsair 1000W 80+ Gold Fully Modular PSU (hehehe for heavy future upgrades)

So one of the reasons I do not want to overclock is that it gets !@$#$ing hot already and performs like a beast.

So what would safe timings be? I'm new to RAM timings and do not understand much of it.
