Possibly burned my cpu?

Sunday evening my computer decided to stop working. I would hit the power button and it would begin to boot up like normal but would cut itself right off. While testing it I noticed that the cpu cooler fan was barely moving and after doing a little googling I came to the conclusion that the fan needed to be replaced. On monday I ended up getting a hyper 212 evo to replace the heatsink and cooler fan as I read that the heatsink and fan that came with it wasn't too great to begin with. After installing the new heatsink per the instructions and various online tutorials I fired it up and everything was running fine. After falling asleep for a bit I woke at 3am to find the power button blinking on the tower and a blank screen. I attempted to restart the pc but to no avail. After hitting the power button it will blink on and the rear fan will spin once but quickly cuts itself off. I tested the power supply with one thats known to work and removed components and tested to see if something like the graphics card was causing the problem. Still no luck. I'm wondering if even with the new heat sink the cpu still overheated or if the motherboard may have gone bad. I barely get a response at this point. Specs are listed below and any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
