So lately I've been thinking about upgrading my HD 7950 to a GTX 770. But as I research whether I would see a performance increase, I've found that many people are saying that it is not worth it, and that you wouldn't see any difference. Seeing multiple people being told this, I've been re-considering whether or not to purchase this card, or if buying a better one would be more prudent.
Should I go for the GTX 770? Or should I go for a higher one? Here are my current specs if that would help.

fx-6300
corsair h100i
gigabyte 990fxa-ud3
8 gb ram
hd 7950
750 watt psu
1 tb harddrive

The 770 is a little better than a 7950, but not really worth the upgrade in my opinion. You'd have to go to an R9 290 or gtx780 to really get a significant upgrade from what you have now.

If you play games that demand lots of graphics or just do some video/photo editing or just something that demands lots of graphics power then go for GTX 780 it will do an amazing job and its future proof so you wont have to get another graphics card for ages.
