Alright, so I'm almost done building my first PC but have come across a problem when plugging in all the cables. My case (Corsair 230T) comes with two 2 led fans in the front of the case and another fan in the back (Not sure what it's called). However, My motherboard comes with 2 CHA_FAN ports (Chassis Fans) and 1 PWR_FAN (Not sure what it's for).

I have a corsair CX500M power supply and from what I see, it has no cords to plug fans into... so I guess my question is, where do I plug in the 3rd fan?

A fan splitter will do the trick

The pwr_fan header is for the PSU. Not all PSUs have the connector but for those that do, it simply reads the PSUs fan speed so it can be read in fan speed software.

Thanks! So for the the moment, which 2 of the 3 fans should I plug in?

(I want to get my computer up and running)

I'd go with one of the intakes on the front, then the exhaust fan at the back to get some airflow happening.

Oh and probably a stupid question, but how would you plug in one of your fans to the port that seems to have a "missing" pin?

Edit: Posted at the same time, thanks for the input!

It is still compatible. Just stick that 3pin fan connector into the 4pin motherboard port. There is only one way it will fit, so you can't mess it up. That 4th pin is for PWM. Basically it allows the system to monitor fan speed and make adjustments as needed.
