PC won't start after moving it

I just built my PC and got it functioning well, but when I went to move it to its more permanent home, it suddenly stopped working.
I managed to install Linux onto it fine and overall, it seemed to not be sluggish or anything, but after moving it from that location upstairs, it failed to start.
Pressing the power button doesn't work and I've ensured that the power on the PSU is turned on, yet it still won't start up in any situation. I've made sure the cables are in their correct places and attached but nothing seems to work.

Have I broken something on the PC? :/ I'm certain I didn't go shaking it about or hitting anything with it...

Hi. I tried all of that. Taking it back does nothing. The connections are all in place. I removed and placed them back in to make sure, but the PC still doesn't seem to power up.

I did a bit of figuring out what was wrong and I've limited it down to either the PSU or motherboard (I'm thinking PSU). I unplugged everything and went for just the CPU, cooler, RAM and power buttons, but still no power. There were no lights or noise being emitted.

I have the list here: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/6cy26h

As an FYI, I also have an antistatic wristband, which I used to ground myself.

same thing if you pull the graphics card and wifi card out of the machine?

is your house electrical system modern?

did you pull the heat sink and fan and reseat the cpu and reinstall the HS&F? check pins..

question........... you didn't lose a jumper for the cmos did you?.......... and is it on the correct pins if it's still there>>??

As I said, pulled everything other than the CPU and RAM. I can try reinstalling them both tomorrow.

How do I determine whether I lost a jumper for the cmos and whether they're on the correct pins?

I read about doing the paper clip test, so I'll also be attempting that to make sure it's not the PSU.

paper clip with the PS?.................

you can check the pdf on the board manufacturers site or you can see the default and "jump" locations that are printed in the manual. it needs to be in the default location and it has to be there for the machine to even start............ sounds like the problem you are having.

I believe you're right about the jumper. I looked at what it should look like online, took a peak on the motherboard and looked at the manual and there are two pins, but nothing attached to them so it's quite possible that I did lose it somewhere. What can I do now?

find a jumper ( or go to a pc shop ) they should give you one.......... only a scurf would charge you for one......or pull one from a junk board....... has to be on the pins....... the correct ( un-jumped ) pins for the boot.

glad you read up on it. some people would just ignore the suggestion. ( and have )

I thought about it, it seemed so tedious when reading, but in the end, it's better to exhaust every possibility. I'll try to find a shop tomorrow, if I can't (I also don't have any old boards), would this be worth buying?

Although, after looking at my motherboard, it only has two pins, whereas other boards have 3. Is this normal? Not an issue?

Thanks for the response. As I said, I'll check out some stores tomorrow. I fear that people may become a little stingy, so if I do struggle to find one, what do you suggest?

Okay, I'll try doing a complete reattempt. If that fails, it means either motherboard, CPU or PSU? If something breaks from a short (If that happens), could that be RMA'd? Or would that go against warranty?
