I went to my catalyst control center and just put my "High performance GPU clock settings" up to 1000 mhz and "high performance memory clock setttings" to 1350 mhz. I also manually turned my fan speed to 80%. Will my computer be fine?

It is a twin frozr MSI radeon 7850

That should be OK. Google "overclocking MSI 7850" to get more info though.

That may not be safe have you tested it in games with these settings? When overclocking it is best to do gradual overclocks (say 50mhz adjustments) test the new settings then bump them up and test again until you reach your goal or an unstable point then revert back to the last stable point and enjoy.

These days the components are smart enough to turn themselves off if it's too much, plus they revert to default settings if there is a problem, I wouldn't worry.
