Playing DOTA 2 on my new & first build. Screen goes black and then I see my desktop while still hearing DOTA and being able to play on the DOTA screen.Alt-Tab gets me "to the desktop" but clicking back in doesn't change the situation. I get the message:

Display driver stopped responding and had recovered. NVDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver v. 340.52 to be exact. System says I'm all up to date?

Thanks guys in advance.

Have you tried lowering the graphics in game and see if that doesn't stop the message?

Also have you updated the drivers recently, also use software from EVGA to run game at optimal graphic setting. It will keep drivers up to date and run DOTA 2 at best settings for the computer.

Do you monitor temp in box? It could be getting too hot

I never caught this reply! Sorry! I haven't tried lowering the graphics but the system should be able to handle it. CPU/GPU/Case temps are fine - very cool like 40-45 C for the units and under 30 for the case. I've now manually uninstalled and reinstalled my graphics driver and it happens less frequently... but it still happens. It is not always during high frame rates either. It's so frustrating!!
