Budget Range: $2000 but if justified, I can go a little higher

System Usage: Gaming, Streaming, Browsing

Are you buying a monitor: Yes

Parts to Upgrade: Everything except keyboard, mouse and OS. I have two 1TB 7200RPM Seagate's so I won't need those but will want an SSD.

Do you need to buy OS: No

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Parts Preferences: Always had Intel CPU's and NVIDIA GPU's, but not set in stone

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe

Additional Comments: Currently have a dual monitor setup but they're kinda old so I'd like to replace them with 2 new ones if it can be worked into the budget given. Would like the case to be black. As mentioned above, I have a keyboard, mouse, OS and two HDD's but would like an SSD to go with them. I will need everything else.

Why Are You Upgrading: Current system is about 4 years old and solid, but looking to go with something new.

A little behind on the current technology but I'm essentially looking for the best build I can get within the budget given, minus the parts I already have. Thanks for the help.

If you dont mind waiting for the 800 series gpu's I would go with that. I wasnt sure what kind of monitors you wanted so i put two 144hz monitors which will be great for gaming.

I would recommend cutting cost on parts like pc case and not getting optical drive, then use that money towards 780ti rather than 780. That is if he doesnt want my advice on waiting for x99 platform

Since you want two monitors, here.

Blazingly fast processor, RAM, SSD and graphics card for gaming and streaming simultaneously. With 2 of the monitors I consider the best bang for buck, these are truly great monitors, although this is just my opinion.

Why would you recommend him an i5 processor when his budget can easily afford an i7 for better experience?

I know just a little about the x99 platform but imagine it would be crazy expensive. What would the benefits be to waiting and how much would I have to change with the builds to work it into the budget?

I appreciate all the builds you guys are recommending.

Since gaming just doesn't work across two monitors .... I wouldn't go to 2 with a high quality monitor .... maybe when ya get 3 :)

No was to the why's

Case is ridiculously priced at $150....red the reviews....nothing gets ranked that high in the price range .... peek at the white before deciding .,... build in fan control, build in LED and control system, great water cooling capability.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkRJsjuvQVY

PSU is cheapest 850 watter available that gets a combined 19.5 jonnyguru score on Build Quality and performance.

MoBo ./ CPU combo is $55 cheaper than next best thing ...

GPU....nothin else even comes close

MSI 9.9 rating - http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GTX_780_Ti_Gaming/29.html

EVGA 9.5 rating http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/EVGA/GTX_780_Ti_SC_ACX_Cooler/31.html

Asus 9.4 rating - http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/GTX_780_Ti_Direct_Cu_II_OC/29.html

RAM is Hynix modules and this 2133 is cheaper than any 1600 set

The Swiftech Cooler just made every CLC on the planet irrelevant. Compared to the 100i for example:

The H220-X is copper, H100i is cheap aluminum
The H220-X outperforms the H100i by a substantial margin
The H220-X is 1/4 as loud as H100i
The H220-X is open loop, you can add GFX card and MoBo blocks,
The H220-X has reservoir and coolant window

I can imagine new cpus to be around 500-1000, motherboards around 300-500, and no clue on drr4 about the pricing. Since you decided to upgrade and should you save another 500-600 by the time they hit market s you will be able to build a complete x99 platform pc.

New Platform, new CPus, new RAM all will be expensive .... advantage is ya can use more than 2 GPUs w/o a PLX chip.
