My hard drive that I have currently is running out of space and is only 300GB. I want to add another, smaller hard drive to the computer (60GB) for moving some programs and definitely some pictures/video. My questions would be how I would go about doing such a thing and if it is necessary on my current hard drive and whether or not it would actually gain me any space or speed from the main drive.

You should just be able to drag things off of one into the others, assuming they're both installed at the same time. Also, I recommend getting a 68-250gb SSD instead of a 60 gb HDD.

Pictures, docs, video...yes.
Applications/programs? No...you can just drag them over and hope they work.

Why a new 60GB drive? Is this an SSD?

I had a budget build that I had to keep under $800, so I used hard drives from older computers. I was given an empty 60 GB hard drive recently. It has hindered the startup time of my computer a lot though and I am not sure if it is actually worth loading everything onto these two smaller hard drives rather than just buying a TB and a 100GB+ SSD since they are so cheap now.
