I recently installed a fresh Windows 7 on my Inspiron N7010 Dell. However, the ethernet controller, Network Controller, and PCI Simple COmmunications Controller are all under "other devices" in Device Manager. Unable to access internet in any way with that machine. Any ideas?

Solution
You need to go the Dell website and download the drivers to your laptop, use a USB stick or something else to transfer the files once you have downloaded them. Here's the link to Dell website for your model: http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/inspiron-17-n7010/drivers.

You will need to download atleast the drivers for audio/chipset/network (might need to determine which one(s))/graphics driver. Driver for the etnernet is propably the Qualcomm atheros since the rest seem to be for wireless devices.
