You can't use the outputs on the motherboard AND the outputs on the video card. One or the other. If you are trying to use the VGA output on both, it won't work. You need to use the outputs on your GT720 only and it has 1 VGA, 1 DVI and 1 HDMI. You need to use either DVI or HDMI to the second monitor which may mean you need to buy a cable.

He can use the HDMI, DVI or VGa port on his motherboard if he has an iGPU function on his mobo and a built in gpu in his processor. So what is your cpu and mobo Chris ?

True, but you can't just do it out of the box. If you just plug a GPU card in, install it's drivers and then connect to the outputs on both the board and the card, it's not going to fly. Not without additional configuration and of course having met the specs you outlined. Knowing the specs for the rest of the system would sure be helpful.

It's a lot easier with windows 8.1, as you only have to connect both screens and install the integrated gpu's driver through widows update.
