Ok so earlier today i bought a 2nd monitor for my PC, and the monitor works (tested it on my laptop) and the VGA Port i am using is also working (i switched them out) anyway i have tried almost everything and still have no clue whats wrong... anyway i have updated all my drivers, turned my pc, monitor, off multiple times, i did the right click > screen resoultion > detect and that did not work anyway here are my PC specs (btw i have my PC has 2 VGA Inputs, and 1 DVI I dont use the DVI though)

PC SPECS:
Windows 8.1
8gb ddr3 ram
1 Tb Hard drive
nVidea Geforce GT 720

You can't use the outputs on the motherboard AND the outputs on the video card. One or the other. If you are trying to use the VGA output on both, it won't work. You need to use the outputs on your GT720 only and it has 1 VGA, 1 DVI and 1 HDMI. You need to use either DVI or HDMI to the second monitor which may mean you need to buy a cable.

True, but you can't just do it out of the box. If you just plug a GPU card in, install it's drivers and then connect to the outputs on both the board and the card, it's not going to fly. Not without additional configuration and of course having met the specs you outlined. Knowing the specs for the rest of the system would sure be helpful.
