OK so here's the deal. I am working on this pc for a friend.
So what happened was His cpu was getting terrible temps from when I put on his old cpu cooler because his old one died(long story) well it worked fine but it had terribly high temps (80c load) so I shut it off, and switched to a different cooler with new thermal paste like I have done many times. I got everything together and started it up. It started normally but it froze at the loading windows screen with the little green bars floating across. (this is windows vista) So, after letting it sit for a few minutes I shut it off by holding the power button. Then, I tried to turn it back on and it just turned on but there was no video and nothing would happen. I think there was stuff going on though because his RAM is corsair XMS2 gaming ddr2 and it has lights on it that shows when the RAM is active. I tried resetting the CMOS and same thing. No video but the RAM's lights light up and all fans spin. The monitor stays in sleep throughout the whole process of this.
Please get me some quick replies I've had real bad luck working on this pc for my friend and it's starting to piss me off because all of the shit this thing has put me through!
thanks....

One stick of old ram yields the same result... The only thing that changed when it went from working to not working was the cpu cooler which should have no impact on whether it works or not! Please give me some ideas here guys I really need em
