Dvd drive on windows 8.1 doesn't work

My dvd drive doesn't work after installing windows 8.1 pro build 9600
I had xp before and the drive worked.
I installed win 8.1 pro on it.
Installation had no errors.
But after I wasn't able to use my dvd drive.
It does light up.
It opens and closes.
Please answer ASAP.
I don't want to reinstall windows.

SATA cable is ok.
I have a dvd drive from died computer.
Can I put it in that one?

make sure everything is connected to the motherboard and the PSU. if it connected and you it doesn't work. try searching on the web for the Application for the Dvd Drive . or you can install them right from your Boot menu. Restart the pc and Press F9 Before PC start. or install it from the motherboard application on your pc.
