I can't seem to locate anywhere where I can get my new bios I tried the American trends website which gives the 05.01 rom. However, the utility to update further does not work for me. I have an asus p5kpl-am epu motherboard and can't find anywhere where they offer support... the utility does not work. Any ideas??? thanks

p.s its for overclocking im wondering what settings have just been using 20% overclocker with 11x multiplier but people seem to be going manual I have 550w Fatality pwer unit and NVidia card 660ti, intel core duo processor @ 2.93 Ghz, my clocks atm read 3356 core speed x 11 multiplier 305 bus speed 1220 rated fsb. I don't know 100% what all this means. P,s my pc temp is fine at the moment I have a fan blasting the whole unit with the side panel off. That after I changed the frequency to manual bus 305 multiplier auto

Ez flash is broken on a lot of Asus boards. If ez flash upgrade utility freezes or says (this is not a uefi bios) then you need to upgrade another way...

The Asus AI suite has a lot of cool programs like controlling voltages and fan speeds etc. But what you want out of that is the upgrade BIOS function (upgrade from desktop not from within BIOS) and you upload the file with Asus AI suite...hopefully the ez flash will work but for a lot of people it simply doesn't .

You need to download one from Asus. Here's the link for your mb: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P5KPLAM/HelpDesk_Download/. Download the bios file and extract it to a usb memory stick. Plug in the usb stick and reboot your computer and go to bios (del button when booting up). Once in bios find the asus ez-flash under tools. Alternative you can go directly to asus ez-flash while booting by pressing shift+F2.

What are your cpu temperatures when under load? If you go for manual overclocking I would bring down the bus speed quite a bit and increase the multiplier. Something like 166Mhz bus speed with multiplier of 21 should bump your core speed to 3486Mhz.
