Hi guys,
I just assembled my new build this week and have been trying to solve a problem. I've read everything I could find and still didn't find an answer, maybe you can help me see something I can't see.

The problem and what I tried:
When I first booted, I plugged in my 2 screens on the DVI output of the GPU (MSI r9 270x) and all I had was a black screen. I removed the GPU, plugged one screen to the DVI on the motherboard, black screen. Then, I decided to go low tech, and went VGA : I had a screen. I went into the BIOS and tweaked the parameters so that it's in legacy mode and will choose PCIe if there, replugged the GPU, replugged the screen on the GPU in DVI : black screen.
So I tried something else : I put a DVI-VGA adapter to plug my screen, in VGA, on the DVI port of the GPU and it works ! This is the only configuration that gives me a screen with the GPU installed. Now my problems are, I need my dual screen, and I don't want VGA. Anyone has any idea of how I can fix this ?
My guess is that something is dead, it's hard to figure out why though, and I'd like to narrow it down before I buy a replacement part.

Notes :
- yes, the GPU is plugged in to the PSU with the 2*6 pins PCIe power adapters
- yes, I tried other screens and cables
- yes, I tried another GPU card, same problem
- yes, I tried another PCIe port, same problem

The build :
- i7 4790k
- asus z97-pro
- G.Skill Ares Blue Series 32 Go (4 x 8 Go) DDR3 2400 MHz CL11
- crucial MX100 512go
- MSI r9 270x
- dual screen samsung T220 (oldies but goodies)
- PSU : Corsair HX650W (3 years old)

I'll happily have a beer with whoever can help me solve this one, it's driving me crazy...
