I have recently created a standard user account on windows 7 64bit. When I first logged in to the account I got 6 requests for authentication regarding components of the Asus AI suite 3; I resolved this by adding the standard account to the local power users group. However, when logging in to the standard account with the power user privileges, I get the error "Access Denied, ProgID: AsusFanControlService.AsusFancontrolManager"

Any suggestions for resolving this would be greatly appreciated

Are there multiple users of your PC? If there is a good reason for your account to not be elevated to admin I understand, if not, I would recommend doing so. There are other options as well but a bit more information about the use, role and users of your computer will be helpful.

Well, after much poring over forum threads and looking through all the related ASUS material as well as contacting ASUS support, the best answer I could get was that the AI suite has to be used on an account that has full administrator privileges. I've never encountered this error before myself as I always run a single account with full privileges but it seems this issue goes all the way back to the first release of AI suite II and has apparently not been resolved yet. This is what happens when a companies entire software development team and product support personnel are overseas and are more of an afterthought than a focus.

Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance but perhaps somebody else has found a workaround for the issue. I've always been a supporter of ASUS but more and more they're losing my faith in the area of support for their hardware and software products.
