Graphics cards for gaming need a PCI-Express x16 slot, and your HP's motherboard has one of those so you have many such cards to choose from, but the GeForce brand is recognised as the best for gaming so choose one of those, or any brand of card as long as it has a GeForce GPU on it.

You will very likely need to fit a more powerful PSU as well especially if your HP still has the basic factory-fitted PSU in it. Most gaming cards require at least a 500w PSU, depending on the actual card you buy it may need more than that.

nVidia Geforce is the best, but I would build a new PC if I were you. The CPU might/will bottleneck some middle-end and high-end cards.

Could you enlighten us on what games you want to play? Do you want to play light games like Minecraft, some MOBAs or the occasional simple FPS, or do you want to also play games like Assasain's Creed, Battlefield, or Crysis, which will require a lot of horsepower? My only concern is your case size, which doesn't allow for many cards with only 4.1 inches of clearance on the width.
