So I've been running a stable OC for about a week now, no artifacts in any games, no issues with firemark. Then I pulled my card to clean my dust filters and fans, and replace a couple fans. Put the card back in, and now no OC will work. It's not a artifact issue either, I'll play a game just fine for a few minutes, then it does this weird visual thing, similar to a digitized version of a crt tv turning off, on my monitors, and I have to do a hard restart. However (so far) it doesn't do this if I leave it at stock clocks. Any ideas?

Some things that could have happened:
* You may have moved the GPU heatsink slightly when you pulled the card out. leaving it with a poor thermal contact to the GPU.
* You replaced some fans. Could the new fans be less efficient?

Have you checked what temps you had before, and what they are now?

I see two potential problems. First is that something got knocked loose when you were cleaning. I would remove the card and recheck all the connections and make sure the heatsink is properly seated. Also check the fan cables, the may be loose and not running properly. The second possibility is that your replacement fans don't work well enough to keep the card cool and it's heating up more. You could try putting the original fans back on to see if that helps.

My temps aren't a problem, they're actually really good. I've monitored them while gaming, now when I even launch the OC utility my pc crashes, I'll pull it out and reseat it and all the plugs again, see if that helps.

Just pulled it and resented it, along with all the power cables. When I booted back up the oc utility was able to open, put it back at the previous OC, ran tomb raider for less then 5 min, crash.

Oh well, screw it. I've tried just about everything shy of actually pulling the cooler off. I was already debating waiting, I'll just cancel my second 290x and wait for the 880's next month. Then throw this one in my mini itx.

Update: Because I cant leave well enough alone. Ran furmark burn in for about 30 min. Temp never got over 72c. all at stock clocks. Deleted/swept drivers, uninstalled all oc utilities, re installed drivers, re installed a oc utility. Same damn thing. Even with a lower OC. At least I know the card isn't cooked or anything, I just dont understand why suddenly it wont OC. if anyone has any ideas let me know. If it matters currently it has a kraken g10 with a h55 cooling it, so if those temps seem to high for that combo I can pull it and reapply thermal compound and reattach.
