ASUS CP6230 advice

Regardless, it looks like you can do a few respectable upgrades. I need the motherboard model to verify but a couple of sources indicate that could be upgraded to an i5 or i7 2nd or maybe even 3rd generation cpu. The RAM can definitely be upgraded from the 2GB that comes installed. You could also install an SSD which would CONSIDERABLY speed up almost everything you do on it. The SSD upgrade is probably the most cost efficient and results oriented upgrade you could do, especially as a starting point. I'd say with an SSD upgrade, increasing the amount of RAM and a CPU upgrade (Not that doing them all is necessary by any means) you could maybe get a 25-30% increase in performance depending on the type of operation you are doing. You will likely have to upgrade the power supply in order to upgrade the processor, because those come with fairly weak power supplies.
