Looking for mini-itx MB with 6 SATA and serial port

I've exausted my google skills and still haven't found a MB that fits ALL of this criteria:


  • ■ mini-itx form factor
    ■ supports 16GB RAM
    ■ at least 6 SATA 6Gb/s
    ■ at least 1 serial port (non usb)

The serial port requirement is the spanner in the works here.

Can anyone help?

Actually, found a new "close but not quite" - the Supermicro A1SAi-2750F.
Terrible name, but it nails the memory capacity (in SO-DIMM), has 6 SATA ports (though only two are SATA 3) and has your serial port(s).
It's a lot closer than your Jetway.

I don't know of anything mainstream that hits those criteria. It's possible there's some sort of SOC system which is just about niche enough to do it, but I have no idea what it would be or if it would be remotely suitable for your needs.

The AM1 platform has some serial port ITX boards but totally falls down on SATA ports, and that's about as close as I know.

I wonder if you've considered looking at adaptors or anything like that, and if they'd be suitable for your purposes. As your specs are so specific, I'd assume not, but if you haven't then it's worth a look.

The closest I've come are the Asus H87I-PLUS which lacks the serial port, and the Jetway NF99FL-525 which does have 1 COM port, but max memory is only 4GB and uses 6x SATA2 (3Gb/s).

Adaptors are an absolute last resort in this case. Really wish I could find a MB with this spec.
