Hi community! I'm in need of some help regarding my new build. So through the build process everything went suprisingly smooth. Now I'm trying to install windows 7 through a bootable flash drive. I get to the part on the installer that asks me where to install the os and I have 1 option that I assume is my hdd even though my hdd is 1tb and this is telling me it only has 128 gigs and at the bottom there is a message that reads "windows cannot be installed to this disk, this computers hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disks controller is enabled in the computers bios menu.

The hdd shows up in the bios and it's in ahci mode too. Any thoughts on why it isn't letting me install win7?

My motherboard is a asrock 990fx and the hdd is a Seagate barricuda 1tb hdd

If possible plug your harddrive to a working computer to check if it is working properly. Updating bios to latest version and downloading storage drivers for the motherboard might be helpfull if that is the cause of the issue.

Downloaded and flashed the latest bios version to my pc. Hdd s.m.a.r.t error occurred and I can probably confirm the h.d.d is dead. Ordered a new hdd so hopefully I can finally get this beast up and running
