Possible Driver Issue

So, apparently my MSI X58A-GD65 motherboard does not have Windows 8 drivers after checking the MSI product page. I built my gaming PC in 2012 with an i7-960 and I just installed Windows 8 on it after doing some upgrades.

I had been running 8 on my previous gaming PC which I sold to a family member but after a few days here I'm having issues with my wired network connectivity. I get either 50% packet loss when pinging Google or no web connectivity. When I tell windows to troubleshoot it resets the adapter and it works for 30 seconds then malfunctions again.

Normally I would think this is a driver issue because normally I install my OS then locate the proper drivers for my chipset etc. but I also had this issue on my OEM Dell 3531 Laptop ( Now running Ubuntu due to speed issues )

So my problem is in terms of troubleshooting. I generally try to eliminate thing one by one to find the problem and at first I thought drivers but since I had an issue with another computer and no one else on my home network is having issues I don't think it's my network.

So my question is should I revert back to Windows 7 ( I just spent days installing all my Steam games ) or is that rash and should I continue to troubleshoot 8? I have both OS's so I have qualms about going back to 7 where I have drivers.

Thanks in advance.

Now I clean installed Windows 7 and the issue persists! If someone has any advice I would be extremely grateful!!
Windows will reset the adapter and tell me there was a gateway issue. Is it possibly a bad Ethernet cable? My Ubuntu laptop is working fine.
