The FM2+ platform (a4-a10) is good for budget gaming only. This platform puts a decent enough gpu chip on the processor to play most games at medium settings on 720p or less. It does this at expense to CPU performance. If you get the best a10 cpu on the market, its real world performance would not perform as good as a fx-6300 cpu which has less cores, and most any other quad core cpu will do circles around it (fx-8300s, i5s, i7s).

Once you want more performance you become stuck as any medium range dedicated graphics card will start to be bottlenecked by the CPU. Thus you will eventually end up replace the cpu, motherboard, and windows license (since windows keys are tied to the motherboard).

In short, the a8/a10 is a budget option...

In short, the a8/a10 is a budget option that cant be beat on bang for buck, but if you aspire to upgrade at all then it is a horrible platform.
