Hi guys, I have a Lenovo Ideapad y510p with a Intel(R) Wireless N 7260 Network adapter, and a NETGEAR WPN824N Router. The issue I'm having is that my wifi disconnects every 5-10 minutes, starting with a significant speed drop. I windows troubleshooted it and got diagnosed as "Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding". However, I have already tried the following to no avail:

1. release/renewed IP
2. cleared dns cache
3. Currently using Google's dns server
4. Switched router channels
5. Restarted router
6. Ran CCleaner/Virus&spyware scans
7. Unistalled/Reinstalled wifi driver
8. Changed adapter "roaming aggresivness" to Highest

The only thing that gets it back to normal seems to either be restarting my computer, or to restart my wireless adapter (usually just through turning on airplane mode). But ain't nobody got time for that every few minutes.

The funny thing is that while my laptop drops the wifi, my other laptop/devices are fine. So I thought it was just my wifi adapter until I visited a friend's house and seemingly had no wifi problems (granted their internet speed was 4x mine, but that shouldn't really make a difference in connectivity- or should it, 15mb/s is OK). I called Lenovo support, and they suggested I refresh (system restore to original) it, but I would rather just install Linux on my laptop than start clean with Win 8... the horrors.
Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks!

My workstation is right next to the router. The only thing between is a wall to separate the living room where I keep the router and my room. For a better picture, I'm currently using a 20ft ethernet cable haha
