Hello everyone,
I'm having some over heating issues under load with my brand new 4790k using Corsair h100i.
Idle temps are at about 25-30c with a room temp of 21c.
But, while under load in prime95 i climb to 95c (without any overclock!) after 5 seconds.
I also heard that my MB plays with the Vcore can that have any effect? how do i turn that kind of thing off? i never touched the BIOS so its in factory settings, but sometimes my PC will load up saying "overclock failed", even though CPUZ says the Vcore is at 1.072 (stock) and the core clock is at 4000mhz (also stock).
I have also tested my pump on my H100i and my bios is reading a fan speed out of it so i know its working. I have also checked the mounting to the CPU and its perfect, very tight fit (re-applied thermal paste after removal)
I'm running out of ideas to what is causing such heat in stock settings...
Please help!
Update:
I tested my old H80i, which set my i7 870 overclocked at 4.2Ghz (up from 2.9) at 75c at max load after 1 hour. Again no luck, my temps climbed to 98c at this time so i know its not a pump fault 100%.
Hope this extra info helps..
