Asus Z97-A adaptive issue

Hey guys I have an Asus Z97-A with an i7 4790k. I got the Noctua NH-D14 so I've been trying to overclock this puppy. I've gotten to 4.6 on all four cores @ 1.2 volts when in manual mode, however when I switch to adaptive mode it starts to get weird.

While using adaptive I can set the maximum turbo voltage to 1.2 volts, and it just doesn't listen. Even when not stress testing (I know about the AVX voltage increase), and just gaming and general productivity the load voltage tops out at 1.24. Of course when stress testing it jumps to 1.26 (using Prime95, OCCT, or AIDA), but also some newer games bumps it up to 1.26. It's like I can put any value in that field and it doesn't change the voltage at all.

Might stick with manual mode for general use and keep track of your settings, then play with the adaptive as you have a decent block of time to play - it can be exasperating ;) This way you can always fall back to the manual, then when you have more time, pull out the settings you ended with and start playing again

Well the issue is I can't mess with it at all, because nothing I enter in the adaptive voltage fields matters, it's always the same voltage. I'm wondering if it's a bug with the bios or something. I'm running the newest bios Btw. But yeah it literally doesn't matter what I set as the adaptive offset or max turbo voltage, the voltage is the same no matter what I do.

Well I decided to leave it at 4.6 I figured I could live with a max 1.26 volts since my temps topped out at around 78 when running OCCT. However last night I played ac3 for a couple of hours and when I exited the game the rig Froze up for the first time ever, no bsod just Froze. I restarted it and it Froze again when entering Windows, restarted a second time and now the wireless USB adapter isn't working correctly. I reset bios before the restarts. Not sure what's going on
