my new and first build opinion...

hey guys this is going to be my first build! done loads of research and have a good computer understanding anyway and im not worried about building it but would like your opinion on it.. going for a red/black theme


case will be a corsair 540 air

3x 120mm red led fans (af120 corsair)

msi z87 g45 mobo

corsair vengance pro 2100mhz ram (red)


i5 4670k (plan to overclock to 4.4ghz)

corsair cx600w psu

corsair h100i (swapped fans to sp120's & af120's in push pull)

2x msi r9 280's 9will not buy these yet but upgrade the system in a few months with these gpus

red led lighting strips around case window

sandisk ultra 128gb SSD

WD caviar blue 2tb HHD

opinions guys? :)

 
Solution
Looks good, but swap out the PSU for a better quality one. Corsair CX is far from great. 600 watts will also not be enough for 2 R9 280s. An 800w high quality PSU would be a much better choice.

Also, I'm not sure about the prices where you live but over here Z97 and Haswell-R cost just as much as Z87 and regular Haswell. Might be something to look into.

If your'e planning on running a dual card setup, I wouldn't suggest the CX series if you could opt out for other units. The CX series are known to have problems under stress, and I'm thinking the extra GPU will create a more stressful setup on that PSU. A good semi-modular 650w PSU from tier 1, 2a, 2b should be good enough for dual 280s I think, though it'll still be a bit on the higher side. I suggest getting a decent 750w though.
