Got a Biostar G41-M7 motherboard with a Intel Core Quad Q8300 2.5Ghz and 4GB 667Mhz Ram (2x 2GB).

The motherboard says it goes up to 1333 FSB as its highest. Does this mean I am unable to overclock the CPU?

My CPU is rated as 1333Mhz.

As I understand it tweaking the FSB from 333 to 400 since will give me a total of 1600 FSB (400 X 4 cores). Since the FSB only supports 1333 and not 1600 I cannot overclock?.

The multiplier is 7.5 max. I hope to get it to 3GHz.

Check your BIOS, I think (operative word - think ;)  ) you can manually take the FSB higher. In doing so it will need additional voltage to carry the FSB and the CPU (which if need be you can drop the multiplier a bit)

So 6x 500 FSB = 3 Ghz ? Is this the more tricky end of overclocking? Should I perhaps start reading up on this before I decide to get the last ounce of juice out my system?
