D-Link DIR-615 keeps failing

D-Link DIR-615 router keeps dropping connection. Won't connect even with a direct CAT-5 cable. Have called D-Link and reset it but it stills fails again after a while (a month or so). How do I get it to stay stable? It's about 2 years old IIRC and started having issues ~4 months ago.

What type of internet service are you using? The problem may not be the router, but the cables running to the router. If you use cable internet, make sure your coaxial cables arent going bad, or ask your internet service provider if they can check the line down below.
