Hi, I have just today gotten xfinity comcast 25 mbps internet. They hooked up a modem/router combo unit and I've been having terrible internet connectivity (games dropping, skype calls disconnecting, etc.)

I looked up some solutions on the internet and people suggested disabling WMM under QoS settings. So I punch in 10.0.0.1 and click advanced, but there are no QoS Settings? How do I get there?

It would be nice in some ways to disable WMM since it can cause issues at some times. Problem is if you disable it you might also disable you ability to run more than 54m, it depends how strictly they adhere to the 802.11n standard.

There is considerable discussion on this topic seems comcast has made a big mess of this. Some devices do not let you turn it off if they are trying to enforce the 802.11n standard. If you can find the option it is normally in the wireless setting in the same place you select wpa/wpa2 etc. There seems to be no consistent solution to this. Some doing this drops the router to 802.11g and other it works fine and corrects the issue.

When it works properly wmm should have little impact either good or bad when you are just running to the internet the wireless speed is so much faster the router should never have to choose traffic to discard.
