Desktop won't connect to the internet

My desktop computer has a wired connection, and it says I am connected to the internet, but I can't load anything. My other devicesare using the connection just fine. I tried disabling the wired connection and using the wifi on my desktop but it is the same problem. Please help.

Go to the command line and ping 8.8.8.8. Do you get a response? If so you may have a DNS issue. Do you have your desktop set to get its IP address and DNS from DHCP?

I tried pinging 8.8.8.8. But it is not recognized. And I'm not sure how to check where my desktop i obtaining its IP address from.
