Not sure if this is the right spot to post this, please feel free to move it where it belongs.
Background: A friend gave me a Sony vaio P series note pad he had had laying around. he had tried to use the factory restore and it freaked out halfway through and wouldn't boot right. I figured it'd be a cool little toy for my kids so I took it home. After a few attempt to get it working I ended up taking out the solid state drive and reloading windows from a usb and I got it working.
Current issue: The P series came with a little port replicator to allow porting to a larger screen. had planned to set this thing up and port it to a monitor on the desktop so my kinds can get on Facebook, etc. and not use the main desktop. I ran into an issue with the port replicator though and I'm not sure if I'm just missing a driver or if it's something more.
The Ethernet works through it, but I can not get the display to come up on the monitor. I've tried using the built in hot keys in case it treated it like a connected projector and when I plug the port replicator in the screen flips off like it should be working, but I never detect anything but the attached lcd screen.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
