I'm trying to boot kali linux from a usb on my windows 8.1 laptop. I have created the usb and entered the bios switching off secure boot, changed the usb to be the first device, and switched to legacy mode. When I restart there is a message saying no boot device detected insert boot device and press any key. The usb is connected. Any ideas?

Figured out the solution if anyone else has the same problem. There is an option to disable some usb 3.0 thing in the bios making them run as 2.0. It needs to be disabled in order to run correctly
