Hi,can someone tell me if i need to reinstall windows 7 when switching from an AMD CPU/Motherboard to an intel setup? and if so how do i go about doing it do I format my hard drive switch parts and then reinstall? I'm a bit of a noob thanks!

That is incorrect. Windows and drivers are tied to your motherboard, you upgrade that, you need to re install drivers and the OS.
Once you get the OS done, it will load into windows and all your files etc will still be there, you will have to re install drivers next.

i was using amd system (amd 1055T with asus m4a89gtd mobo) and recently i switched to intel proc and mobo (i5 4690 & msi b85 g43). I am still using my old ssd without reinstalling the windows. The only thing you need to install is the mobo drivers (the usb, lan, and everything related to the mobo). So if the question is about whether you NEED to install a new clean windows, then I would say no. But you may do so if you want.
