I have an http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A97/

I'm asking because after installing FX-8350 CPU nothing is working correct anymore. My mouse, Keyboard, Monitors, and Ethernet don't turn on. The fans are spinning on my video card, power supply, tower and the CPU. Not sure whats wrong.

Solution
Did you check that the CPU did not break or bend pins?... I suppose the Socket did not suffer damage and still locks the CPU normally?. If neither CPU or Socket suffered damage, it shouldn't be a problem.. Did you remove the old thermal grease?..
is the heatsink surface still smooth?.. it should be or heat won't transfer efficiently from the CPU, it will overheat, and will not post.

You did not mention if...

Technically yes as long as you don't plan on even mildly overclocking it otherwise your more likely to see stability issues. Get a board with an 8+2 VRM section or you're asking for trouble with an 8-core, The M5A99X Evo is a much better board than the M5A97 R2.0.

Did you look for a updated firmware? R2.0 should support that chip.

So far i checked all the power connections and made sure they are tight. I also rest the BIOS a couple of times using the jumper and also the battery. Still same thing, the computer turns on and so does all the hardware (well their fans are on) so they must be getting power?

Yeah all those are connected. I went ahead and put my old CPU back in to try a BIOS update and it is also doing the same thing. What ever is wrong has nothing to do with the new CPU.

I don't know if this has anything to do with it. When i was removing the old CPU fan the CPU and the fan were stuck together and both came out still stuck together with out unlocking the socket on the motherboard.

You did not mention if the red light stops blinking?.. if it doesn't there is a memory compatibility issue.

The correct way to use the MemOK! button: Is press and hold the buttom, and release it when the LED starts blinking... when the blinking stops it will have finished configuring memory compatibility... Next try booting the computer.

If the MemOK! button doesn't help, see if replacing the PSU has any effect, or try the PSU on another computer.

There seems to be a power up issue... Trying a different PSU or the Corsair TX 650w on another computer should clear doubts.
