I've burned a disc image for the motherboard drivers onto a USB on my macbook, but when I plug it in to install it I get a message saying "Error Loading Operating System" and when I looked up how to solve the problem I was told to download something that would wipe all my drives on boot so I made another USB with KillDisk on it but when I plugged that in I got "Operating System Not Found" Without any USB I get the message "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key" Should I just buy an optical drive, and if that's the case could I get an external drive, or will it have to be an internal drive.
The Motherboard is AsRock 5975 Pro 4 http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H97M%20Pro4/

UPDATE: Also when I try to start with just the OS USB (windows 7) I just get a "_" constantly flashing like it's waiting for some input but nothing I click seems to work.

I don't have a windows machine readily available, I did use the bootcamp assistant to make a windows 7 bootable drive on a USB but I'm not completely certain if that's not just for dual installations on Macs
