I have two sticks of RAM. In my new build, the RAM only works using one stick in the 4th slot or both, together in the 3rd and 4th slots, single channel. Both sticks were tested alone, and also tested by the windows memory diagnostic; they supposedly are fine..

Do I return the motherboard?

Solution
Does it make it into the BIOS with them in the proper slots (I am assuming it would be 1/3 or 2/4)? Sometimes the RAM settings can be off - I would check that first.

If using slots 1 or 2, with a single stick, does it recognize the RAM?

If it doesn't recognize in 1 or 2 with a single stick (that did work in 4), I would bet on a bad mobo.
