I just upgraded to an X99 motherboard and a 5th gen intel i7. I had to get a new cooler because my one wouldn't fit this things and got a Corsair H110. also got some G.Skill DDR4 memory

the computer is now making a ridiculous high pitched coil noise that it never has before. all the other components have no changed from previous my build (cables, GPUs, PSU, drives, etc)

anyone else having this problem? or had it before and solved it?

spanks

Usually this is a PSU problem but if yours was working fine before I'm not sure.

i thought the same thing.

but is there something that can cause the coil whine? like using too much or too little power? or forgetting to plug something in?

Tbh i have the same mobo x99 gaming 5 and i started to get that coil whine..... yet i've tested a coolmaster 1200w psu and also my new main evga 1200w p2 still got coil. also i've switched out the gpu my 2x 290x for 2x 580 just to test the coil whine is there but not as loud ofc gpu don't use as much power as r9. maybe there a problem with this mobo?, i never had this on my sandy bridge setup and the only things that are new is mobo cpu memory and psu but i canceled out the psu so its not that. nor gpu's.... has to be mobo.
