hey guys!

i am bulinding a computer and i thought id put this in my rig:

Amd fx 8350 + better cooler
Asus m5a97
1tb wd black
128gb ssd
4x4 corsair dominator
600w power supply
Nzxt lexa s
Gtx 660 or 580

I would appreciate it if you could tell me what should or shouldnt be there

I need the computer mostly for graphic design, a little video editing, mostly adobe applications and a few games.

Thanks in advance

Solution
Firstly, don't go with 4X4GB memory config, it'll have less upgradibility and will stress the Memory controller more, and will not yield any benefits either. Go with the Trident X 2X8GB 2400MHz/CL10 1.65V modules, they're cheaper and much better performer. This is coming from a Dominator Platinum user.

Go for WD Blue or Seagate barracude for HDD, they're cheaper and just as good.

Specify the model of PSU you plan to buy. Avoid Corsair CX/ builder/ CS/ VS.

GPU, don't go with older series (600, 500), go with 700 series or AMD R9 series. R9 270X will be a good option as its better than GTX 750 Ti which is on par with GTX 660. 580 is better than GTX 750 Ti but very expensive and is aged too.

For graphics designing/ rendering, you'd need faster speed memory, like 2133MHz or higher. FX officially doesn't support it but you can always OC the CPU and memory to get better performance, which is recommended here.

Get 990 series MoBo if feasable.

Oh cool, thanks! Ill keep in mind all the stuff you said. For the motherboard I am out of the budget. If i get all these things you said i have the money only for the m5a97, will it be much worse? where will it show its weaker preformance?

Which psu would you get ? for a resonable price

Thank you for all your time!

No 9xx series is made for FX so it won't be anything worse, you'd just need to update BIOS first.

Get any 550W+ PSU from Antec/ EVGA/ SeaSonic/ XFX, they're all good quality.

I'd go with the FX 8 series, since its cheaper than i5 k versions (its major competitor) and the performance gain is not at all huge :)
