You can't.
Maplin is the closest you can get and you will pay a premium for everything.
Just go through Amazon, usually the cheapest in the UK anyway as long as you do your research first.

Where in the UK are you?

The two main ones i use:
www.scan.co.uk - <- Bolton
www.overclockers.co.uk <- Newcastle-under-Lyme

Tbh though the buying a "pre tested kit" would cause no harm, i've worked with both OC.co.uk and Scan over the counter and those guys really do know their shiz - i'd be suprised if you ended up with any faulty gear - and on the rare chance that it might happen these places are really good customer support - i don't see why they wouldn't replace the faulty parts.

one more question as your the cpu master ,im planning a 17 4790k build do you see any real sense waiting for broadwell im itching to get started and cant see the unlocked chip coming out for at least 6 months what would you suggest

I haven't really been that onto the broadwell but since it'll be a new gen, I guess if you can wait you can wait, the 4790k is only a refresh so if you can afford to wait it'll be good and not to mention the 4790k prices may drop, if you really need a cpu a 4790k will be very good and should last you at least 6-7 years

not much really games and watching tek syndicate lol general stuff i know i probaly only need an i5 at best but my thinking is better binned chips go to the i7 pile and i enjoy the build and for the extra 70 quid why not im now trying to decide if i should get one stick of 8 gb which is probaly plenty or 2 x8gb kit dont really want to get 2x 4gb as no upgrade in that but any input is helpful

truth be told theres nothing wrong with the pc im using now but my job is paying well and ive started a limited company which means i can write a pc off a business required and that coupled with a new found passion to build pcs leads me to this endeavour

ok thanks the motherboard i like is the MSI Z97 MPOWER S1150 Intel Z97 DDR3 ATX
http://www.dabs.com/products/msi-z97-mpower-s1150-intel-z97-ddr3-atx-9G4J.html
it didnt get the greatest review but still a solid choice and i love the colour and the fact it shows cpu temp on the boards fault display led and although some people dont like msi boards this one has been put through the mill apperently prior to getting certified
