Having trouble updating firmware on seagate model: ST2000DM001

So I'm having trouble updating the firmware on the hdd which is supposed to fix the "chirping noise". But when I try to run the exe, windows restarts, but the updater doesn't start. It's just stuck on a screen with lots of numbers and questionsmarks. I can't remember exactly what it said, but it's not starting the update procedure at all. It doesn't say its the wrong firmware or hdd, it is just simply stuck on that screen until I force a restart. Help is greatly appreciated! Getting tired of that "chirping noise" that Seagate HDD's was/is famous for.

Yes, I already tried this, and the other update i tried was only in ISO format. I burned a dvd with the ISO, but my pc would not boot from the dvd.

Which software did you use to burn the ISO? You can't just copy the ISO to an optical disc, assuming that is what you've done.

I burned it to the disc using Poweriso.

Anyhow, I think the problem is gone now since I found a possible solution in a forum, which was to turn off the HDD's (Advanced Power Management) feature in power options, stopping the disk from powering down.
Edit: this did not solve the problem completely, just made the noise a little less audible.
