Alright, so I'll clarify my situation. I recently changed the table on which my whole PC setup is mounted and now I have a setup where I sit approximately 4 feet away from the screen. So, it's really hard for me to see text on my current monitor. I'm using a 24inch DELL S2409W. I researched a bit on the internet and I came across the following graph on the internet.

http://carltonbale.com/1080p-does-matter/

As you can see, for me the 32 to 40inch display panel would be ideal. Also, since I'll be gaming a lot on this display, I'd like it to be in 1080p and not higher so that I get higher frame rates at max settings.

All of this made me decide to go for the HDTV.

After a bit of more searching I came across this particular HDTV - VU 40K16 40-inch LED TV

I couldnt find many detailed reviews for it listing exact technical specifications and comparisons to other TVs but most buyers on Amazon had good things to say about it.

I would really like some input from you guys on this.
Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks in advance for all the help.

40-inch is awfully big as a PC monitor it seems to me. Anyway, first check that your graphics card supports the high display resolution required by a 40-inch screen: 1920 x 1080

Otherwise all your Windows elements, icons, etc will be way too big and unsharp.

If you're already quite aware of the system requirements and your graphics card capabilities that's fine, but I still maintain that a 40-inch screen is way too big for computer use unless your sitting at least 6 feet away from it.

Like I said, I have a NVIDIA GTX 780. So, running at 1080p isn't a problem. What I would like an opinion specifically on is the HDTV. As in, if anyone has any experience on this particular brand of TV. They're giving this at almost half the price of that of Sony or Samsung HDTVs with the same screen size.
