So I have a dell Inspiron 17r laptop, with windows 7, and recently I tried to log into it and it wouldn't let me. It tells me I have the incorrect password even though I KNOW I am putting it in correctly. I don't have a password reset disk either, or the windows 7 disk either.

The computer is turned off whenever I'm not using it.

Is this a problem with windows?

Hello Genecis,

you don't say if you have set a BIOS password which shows up immediately after you turn your laptop on or a Windows password which shows up after the laptop has started booting.

There is software to crack lost windows passwords as there is software to crack BIOS passwords as well.
Removing the CMOS battery by the way does not help in case of a BIOS password.

For the latter case i recommend you contact the manufacturer and prove that you are the owner as i do not want to support possible theft here.
