So I build myself my first rig two days ago, used it until today, at which point I decided to crack her open again and do some minor tweakings.. This is what I did: Rerouted fans to sysfan, moved a DDR3 stick to it's correct location, tidied up cables. Part of tidying up was switching the SATA cables out for another variant with "90° bent" connectors. I also switched one's mobo port so it wouldn't be behind the GPU. I also pulled out the HDAudio and the power cables temporarilly.

After this I tried starting the computer, went fluently. I turned it off and put on the case panels again after which I started the computer again. At this point I got the boot disk error. What do you reckon to be the problem? Do I have to use the same SATA ports as before? I cannot access BIOS, most likely due to MSI Fast Boot being on.

Solution

I fixed it! Appearently the cables were inserted the wrong way? First time both ends of the cable looked alike so I just plugged them in and it worked. With the new cables however, I tried plugging the 80° side into the mobo. I flipped the SSD cable around, as my OS is on that one. Computer started so I plug in the HDD and now it works as it should!
